Golf Course Wildlife

Find out about the wildlife of Queens Park.

Meet in the golf course car park, off Queens Park West Drive

 

Saturday 15th November, 10.30am  -  Millhams Mead

Autumn Birds

We will be looking for kingfishers, egrets, buzzards, woodpeckers and lots more.

Meet in the St. Andrews Church car park at the end of Millhams Road, Kinson

 

Saturday 22nd November, 2pm  -  Hengistbury Head

Autumn Wildlife Walk

A walk around this superb site to look for autumn flora and fauna.

Meet at the thatched barn.

 

Tuesday 25th November, 7.30pm  -  Hengistbury Head

Legends of the Night Sky

Learn constellations and star names, and the legends and stories surrounding them.

Meet by the Hiker cafe, at the end of The Broadway. Event will not go ahead if cloudy.

 

Saturday 29th November, 2.30pm  -  Bournemouth Gardens

A Walk Through the Solar System

Take a stroll through a scaled-down solar system, starting at the sun, and visting each of the planets  -  all to scale!!

Meet by the Cenotaph, opposite the Town Hall.

 

Saturday 6th December, 10.30am  -  Stour Valley LNR

Animal Tracks and Signs

A walk for all the family. Be a nature detective and look for tracks and signs of mammals and birds.

Meet in the Granby Road car park, off Muscliff Lane

 

Saturday 13th December, 10am  -  Turbary Common

Winter Poetry Walk

Take a stroll around this excellent nature reserve, looking for winter flora and fauna, and listening to winter poems about the winter season and its wildlife. Please bring along your favourite winter poems.

 

Monday 15th December, 7.30pm  -  Hengistbury Head

Winter Skies and Shooting Stars

Look for shooting stars from the Geminid meteor shower, in the hopefully clear skies of Hengistbury Head. Please note, the event will not go ahead if cloudy.

Meet by the Hiker Cafe, at the end of The Broadway.

A stroll around this superb site to look for winter wildlife.
