Pelhams Park
Green Flag Award winner since 2005

Pelhams Park is the most significant recreational space in the Kinson and Northbourne areas of Bournemouth.  This busy community park covers 3.5 hectares and hosts numerous clubs and societies within the grade II listed building, used as a popular community and adult learning centre.  Park activities include Summer playschemes for local children and flower shows and fetes.  The tennis courts, children’s playground and bowling green offers a wide range of facilities for local residents.

The site is run by the local authority in conjunction with the Kinson Community Association and the Pelhams Park Bowling Club Trust.  The tennis courts are leased to Roko for both members and pay and play customers.

The site also hosts Boredom Busters, the Council's supervised playscheme for organised play on weekday mornings during the school summer holidays.  To pre-book, please telephone 01202 456111.

Ample parking, including accessible spaces are provided, with the remainder of the site set aside for general amenity use with some fine specimen trees and fauna.

It is well maintained by site-based ground staff who together with the Community Parks Officers, ensure that the park is a safe and pleasant environment for relaxation.

The park is designated for the control of dog fouling under the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996.  In addition, some areas are designated ‘Dog Prohibited’ and ‘Dogs on Leads’ under the Byelaws for the Regulation of Dogs.

For further information, please see the Pelhams Park Management Plan.
