Our service gives our service users and their families peace of mind. It helps people stay independent while feeling safe and supported in their own home.
Who can benefit from having a Careline alarm?
Anyone living in a BH postcode can apply for a Bournemouth Careline alarm. They can be fitted in council and private homes. They are suitable for vulnerable people, such as:
- Older people
- People living with dementia
- People at risk of falling
- People with medical conditions such as diabetes or epilepsy
- People of all ages who live alone
- Single parents or families with young children
- People who have recently been discharged from hospital
How does Careline work?
When support is needed you simply press the alarm button on your unit or pendant to put a call through to Careline. Someone on the Careline team will speak to you to find out what’s wrong.
Careline is an emergency call service. If it’s best for someone to come out to you, the Careline staff will call your keyholder. They can also call the emergency services if required.
Careline is a monitoring service and doesn’t respond to calls by coming to your home, we'll alert the emergency services or your keyholder. That’s why you need to nominate keyholders who are people you trust that can help if you need hands on support.
Fitting a Careline
If you’d like a Careline alarm you’ll need to pay a one-off £30 installation fee. There is also a small weekly service charge.
A Careline alarm is easy to install, you need a working landline telephone socket and a working electrical socket nearby. It only takes minutes to set up and you’ll get a full demonstration so you know how to use it.
