Apprenticeships with Bournemouth Council
Apprentice jobs are advertised on our jobs page, if you’re aged 16+ and not in full time education you can apply
Apprenticeships last for a minimum of one year. We can’t guarantee you a permanent job at the end of your training. We can give you lots of career advice to help you at the end of your apprenticeship.
You’ll get paid while you work and study for a nationally recognised qualification in the area you are working in. You will also get real work experience, which is what most employers want to see on a CV.
Bournemouth Borough Council is a great organisation to do an apprenticeship with, there are opportunities to work in lots of different areas. For example, business administration, finance, customer service and a number of building trades are just a few areas you could work in.

What our apprentices think of the scheme
"Working as an Apprentice for the Council has been the most well spent years of my life, educational and extremely satisfying.
It has proven to be an ideal start to my career, giving me specialist experience within my department. On top of the comprehensive knowledge provided with the qualification itself. Most importantly, where I had doubts about my future, the Apprenticeship has instilled a sense of confidence and direction. I would recommend any school leaver or student to seize an Apprenticeship opportunity."
"I chose to apply for an apprenticeship within the council because I was advised by friends and relatives that it was a reliable and supportive employer which has a very large range of job opportunities. The apprenticeship experience so far has been everything I expected and a lot more. I’ve learnt so much in such a short time and the support that I have received from my colleagues with completing my NVQ qualification has been very helpful."
