Welcome from Executive Director
I am delighted that you have expressed an interest in working within Children’s Social Care in Bournemouth...
... as there has never been a better time to come and join our team. As nationally we continue to face challenges, along with the majority of local authorities we are faced with budgetary constraints and an increase in demand for services; but we recognise this, and the obstacles facing you as a front line social worker. Our response is one of action...
We are already further strengthening our services following our Ofsted inspection, during May 2014, which recognised that we keep our children safe and that many of our working practices are sound. We know what we need to do to be outstanding and are not afraid to try out cutting edge ways of providing services and driving forward real and positive change in professional practice.
We have a highly ambitious partnership across our Children’s Trust in Bournemouth, with a strong determination to enable children and young people to achieve the best possible outcomes and have the best possible start in life. Our response to the Munro and Family Justice Review is well-advanced. We have already transformed our social work services to protect children and be at the forefront of innovative and effective social work practice, including the introduction of single assessments.
We have an experienced senior management team and dedicated Principal Social Worker who provide clear direction and support, to enable our staff to further enhance their knowledge and skills throughout their career in Bournemouth.
We value our staff, trusting and empowering them to be a real part of our ambitious change programme and in return our people are passionate about improving the lives of children and young people – YOU could be one of them!
I look forward to hearing from you.
