Public Sector Apprenticeship Target Data

This data has been published in accordance with the Public Sector Apprenticeship Target.

Public Bodies employing more than 250 people are required to have regard to the target of 2.3% of employees being new starting apprentices.

2018 is the first year Public Bodies have been required to publish this data

  • Number of new apprentices in England whose apprenticeship agreements started between 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018. This includes both new hires and existing employees who started an apprenticeship - 10
  • Number of full-time equivalents (optional) – 1882 
  • Percentage of apprenticeship starts (both new hires and existing employees who started an apprenticeship) as a proportion of employment starts between 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018 – 1.55%
  • Percentage of total headcount that were apprentices on 31 March 2018 – 0.69% 
  • Percentage of apprenticeships starts (both new hires and existing employees who started an apprenticeship) between 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018 as a proportion of total headcount on 31 March 2017 – 0.44%
