There’s plenty to see on Bournemouth’s seafront
Bournemouth has seven miles of soft, golden sand. This has helped the town to win four Blue Flag awards, two Seaside Awards and a Green Tourism Business Scheme Silver award.

Land trains and cliff lifts
Our scenic land trains can take you across the beach, and our cliff lifts can offer you a great view of the coast.
Piers
Bournemouth Pier has two restaurants, an amusement arcade and traditional deck chairs. Boscombe Pier has a Grade II-listed entrance building, with a shop and a café. There’s also a heritage trail.
Beach huts
We have over 250 beach huts and pods which you can hire and enjoy.
Lifeguards and Seafront Rangers
We have Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and volunteer lifeguard teams on the beach between May and September.
Our Seafront Ranger Team patrols the promenades and can give you advice for enjoying the seafront. Team members also work in the following beach offices:
- Alum Chine (seasonal)
- Durley Chine (seasonal)
- Bournemouth (all year)
- Boscombe (all year)
- Fisherman’s Walk (seasonal)
- Southbourne (seasonal)
