We held talks at the primary schools in Bournemouth last year. If you missed the talk at your child's school, you may find this leaflet helpful.
You may also wish to attend the open evenings held by all Bournemouth secondary schools.
If you’ve just moved to Bournemouth
Contact the Children's Information Service (CIS) 01202 456223 for advice if you've just moved here, or plan to move here in the near future. Please note, school places can’t normally be reserved more than half a term in advance.
In some cases, we need proof of your address. It may save time later if you provide this to us with your application.
If you have moved to Bournemouth from overseas, you will also need to present your original passports and visas (if applicable) for all members of the family before we can offer a place. This is so that we know you are here in Bournemouth ready to take up any place offered.
Complete the application form and return it to the Admissions Services Team. We’re happy to answer any questions you have. Just call the Children's Information Service on 01202 456223.
Apply for a school transfer during the academic year
If your child already attends a school in Bournemouth but you want to move them to another school within the Borough, please complete an application form and submit it to the Admissions Services Team.
We operate a co-ordinated admissions process with the schools in Bournemouth, so there is one application and one offer per pupil.
We have also set the co-ordinated scheme for 2019-20.
To apply for a place, you can complete the application form and return it to the Admissions Services Team. We’re happy to answer any questions you have. Just call the Children's Information Service on 01202 456223.
