I Am Homeless Or At Risk Of Homelessness

Get in touch if you need help because you are homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless

Help to stay in your home

We want to prevent homeless wherever we can. If you are at risk of homelessness, come and see us or phone us as early as possible so that we can try to help you stay in your current home. The sooner you let us know, the more we can do to help.

Our housing related support services may be able to assist you if you need help to maintain your current accommodation or if you need accommodation with onsite support.

What happens if we can't prevent homelessness

If we can't help you prevent homelessness, we will carry out a homeless assessment to establish if we have a duty to help you. In some cases, we will provide temporary accommodation. We explain what will happen as part of the overall assessment process.

Get advice

If you are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or want advice on what housing options are available, visit our Housing Options Team at the Town Hall in Bournemouth between 9 am and 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, and between 9am and 4pm on a Friday. Our offices are accessible for those using a wheelchair and there are hearing loops available.

Advice if you become homeless out of hours

If you become homeless outside of these times on a weekday, or anytime on a weekend or bank holiday, call the Emergency Out Of Hours Team on 01202 451467.

The team will assess your circumstances, and depending on the outcome of this you may be offered accommodation.
