Remembering those who lived, fought and died in the War
Bournemouth will continue to commemorate the anniversaries of both the First and Second World Wars.
2014 marked 100 years since the start of the First World War and a programme of events and activities have been organised to mark the centenary and provide a legacy which helps build a better future.
Many of these are taking place in libraries and community centres working with local schools and other organisations. These programme of events will help future generations understand what happened a hundred years ago and remember those who lived, fought and died in the War. Learning from the past we hope will give our younger members of the community an understanding of the importance of peace.
