Happy competition winners to tie the knot at The Council Chamber

Posted on Tuesday 13th February 2018

Local couple Annette King and Simon Hunter have recently been presented with a certificate and a discount of £429 off the price of their wedding ceremony in The Council Chamber. They entered a competition at an open day at the Town Hall last month for people to come and view the wedding ceremony rooms available.

Up for grabs was the chance to win a free wedding at either The Laurels/The Willows or a reduction in price for The Council Chamber. The couple were engaged on Valentine’s Day last year and on hearing the news that they had won the competition, Annette and Simon said: “We’re absolutely over the moon and it was the loveliest of surprises. We had only seen the room online and when we came to view it on the open day at the Town Hall we were very impressed, it was even more than we expected.”

They added: “We chose this room for its grandeur and size and found it to be the perfect venue. The Open Day was a lovely experience and The Registrars and Ushers that we spoke with were all lovely. We are so looking forward to our big day!”

Bournemouth Borough Council will be holding another open day at the Town Hall later in the year, where there will be an opportunity for couples to view the Ceremony Rooms at the Town Hall and chat with the Registrars. There will also be the chance to win a wedding free of charge in either The Laurels or The Willows or receive a 50 per cent discount for the Council Chamber.
