Following the closure of a section of Gervis Place in Bournemouth, a full assessment has now been completed and repairs to the road will begin on 22 January.
A number of voids where either loose or un-compacted ground or unfilled cavities have been detected and will now be filled. It is anticipated that all the work will be completed in early February.
During the works, bus services will continue to operate from their alternative stops, information for which has been displayed on site and made available through the bus operators publicised changes to services.
Gary Powell, Head of Traffic Management, said: “Unfortunately it has been discovered there are suspect voids under the road, which we need to repair. We apologise for any inconvenience the partial closure will cause, which is necessary to enable us to fully resolve the issue. The road will not re-open until appropriate repairs have been completed.”
