Disabled Parking in Bournemouth Car Parks
Find out about the parking options we provide for disabled people
Disabled parking in car parks
Most of Bournemouth’s car parks have spaces for blue badge holders. To use these, you must make sure a valid disabled parking badge ('blue badge') can be seen through the windscreen.
I'm exempt from paying vehicle tax, can I park for free?
If you're exempt from paying vehicle tax because of a disability, you can park for free in Bournemouth Council car parks with the exceptions of Richmond Gardens Multi Storey Car Park and Avenue Road Mutli Storey Car Park.
You need to have your blue badge displayed. Because tax discs are no longer provided, you need to let us know your vehicle is exempt from vehicle tax.
We need to see a copy of:
- A V5 (Vehicle Registration) document showing the vehicle is exempt from tax due to reasons of disability AND
- A letter from the Department of Works and Pensions confirming you get Higher Rate entitlement
You can send this to us:
- By email to firstname.lastname@example.org OR
- By post to Parking, Customer Services, Customer Service Centre, St Stephens Road, Bournemouth, BH2 6EB
We will acknowledge receipt of your document copies and list your registration number as eligible for the free parking.
This is an interim scheme and if changed it will be advertised on the Council`s website and in the local paper.
