How to Pay Your Council Tax
You can pay your Council Tax in a number of different ways
You can pay online, by cheque, direct debit, on the phone, at a bank or post office.
By Direct Debit
Thousands of council tax payers now pay by direct debit. You can choose to pay monthly or once a year.

Paying online

You can pay online with a debit card or credit card.
On the phone
You can make a payment by calling our 24 hour payment line on 0330 088 7966. Simply listen to the options and pick the one that you wish to pay for. We take debit cards and credit cards.
Just make sure you have your reference ready.
Transfer funds online or by phone
If you use online banking, you can pay by transferring funds. You’ll need:
- Our sort code 40 13 07
- Our account number 21006622
- Your Council Tax reference number
By post or visit us
We cannot accept cash at the Town Hall or via post. To pay by cheque, it must be made payable to BCP Council, and have your Council Tax reference written on the back.
