What is the Freedom of Information Act?

The Freedom of Information Act means you can see:

  • The business information we hold
  • What we do and how we make decisions

The Act can’t be used to see personal information we hold about you.

Finding information

We are required to publish and make available business information to you as part of a Publication Scheme

If you can’t find what you’re looking for, ask us.


We might need to charge you for the information we provide see our Fees and Charges document for details.

Getting information

You can tell us how you would like to get the information. If we can’t send it to you in the way you want, we’ll let you know and suggest a different way.

We’ll normally send you the information within twenty working days of getting your request. If we can’t do this, we’ll let you know. Sometimes it may take longer if: 

  • We need you to explain your question more clearly
  • If the information you want is exempt
  • If we’ve charged and you haven’t paid us

Making a complaint

If you aren’t happy about how we handled your request, you can ask for an Internal Review which is in line with our complaints procedure.
