Take a Break from Caring
During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we have made changes to our services for vulnerable adults to make sure that they are both effective and safe.
See further information about changes to services.
Free support to take a break.
Taking a break from your caring responsibilities is vital. Caring can be emotionally and physically demanding, so it’s important not to overlook your own needs.
We can help you have some much-deserved ‘time out’ in a number of different ways, many of which are free to carers even if the person you support has to fund their own care. You may need to have a Carers Assessment before you can access the services, but please don't let that put you off. A Carers Assessment is not an assessment of the care you provide, but a conversation we have with you to discuss the support you provide, the impact it has on your life and to discuss how we can help.
To find out more or to ask for any of these services please contact the Carers Support Service.
There's a warm welcome waiting for carers every Tuesday afternoon 2pm-4pm and every Friday morning 10am-12pm If you need some support or just need some time out for a drink and a chat, then drop in to the Carers Centre. Refreshments are provided. No need to make an appointment, just come along to CRISP Carers Centre, St Ambrose Cottage, Alumhurst Road, Westbourne, BH4 8ER
One at Alum Chine and one Sandbanks. Hired on a daily basis throughout the year. Free to carers.
