Local Housing Allowance Rates

Find the rates for 1st April 2018 to 31st March 2019

Local Housing Allowance lets you identify the maximum amount of Housing Benefit that you could receive as it is based on how your household is made up.

One Bedroom is allowed for each person in the following categories:

  • A single adult or couple. Level A might apply to you, please check.
  • A child.
  • Two children of the same sex, until one of them reaches the age of 16.
  • Two children of the opposite sex until one of them reaches the age of 10.

Four is the maximum number of bedrooms anyone is allowed. Use the Room Calculator on The Valuation Office Agency's Website to help work out the maximum amount of Housing Benefit you could receive.

The rates shown below only apply if you make a claim for benefit between 01/04/2015 to 31/03/2018.

Remember that this is a very basic guide only. While we have tried to make sure that the information is correct, it is possible that some of the information has changed.

If you live in a mobile home or your rent includes an amount for board, we will need to ask the Rent Service to decide if you qualify within the Local Housing Allowance scheme, or another Housing Benefit scheme.
