Apply for the garden waste service

If you live in Christchurch, you will need to register on the Services in Christchurch website.

If you live in Poole, you will need to register on the Services in Poole website.

Cost of the garden waste service

The cost of the service is £49 per bin.

The cost of the garden waste service will remain the same regardless of when you purchase the service. We are unable to offer any reduced rates if you purchase the service at any time during the service year.

Garden waste bin size

Bournemouth’s garden waste bins are increasing in size in 2021 to 240 litres, in line with Christchurch and Poole’s bins.

If you already have a bin(s), we will be swapping your current 140 litre garden waste bin(s) for a larger 240 litre bin(s) from January 2021.

Please note this increase in capacity when registering for 2021 if you bought multiple bins in previous years.

We will be in touch closer to the time to let you know what you need to do. If you do not already have bins, you will be delivered the new size automatically.

Blocks of flats with 5 or more flats

The 2021 registration process is different for flats using shared bins.

If you are new to the garden was collection service, please register and pay online.

If you are renewing and already have bins, we are making some changes for 2021 so we will be contacting you soon to discuss the bins you have and arrange payment.

Register for the garden waste service online

You can register for the garden waste service online. You will be asked to login to your online account when you apply for the garden waste service 2021. If you do not already have an account, you will need to create one.

If any of your details have changed in the last year, please change them on your online account before registering.

If you are a new customer, you will first need to set up an account, you can then register for the service.

Garden waste collections 2021

The 2020 service was temporarily suspended for two collections due to COVID-19. To make up for these collections, we’ll be providing a catch-up service from 18 January to 12 February 2021.

During these four weeks, if you subscribed to the 2020 service please present your bins with your 2020 payment sticker clearly visible to receive these two collections.

The 2021 service officially starts week commencing 15 February 2021. The last collection will be on week ending 17 December 2021.
