Grave Cleaning and Maintenance
Caring for your grave or memorial
Coronavirus (COVID-19): change to service
On advice from the government regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19), we have closed our cemeteries to the public and introduced a temporary reduction to cremation and burial fees.
See further information about changes to services.
If you'd like us to maintain a grave or memorial, we need to check its current condition and location before we can start.
The first thing to do is get in touch with us to tell us the location of the grave or memorial, and the name of the deceased. We then send you a form to fill in.
The maintenance plan starts once we have the form and payment.
What you can expect in your maintenance plan
- Cutting and upkeep of any grass
- Planting and plant upkeep
- Memorial cleaning once per year (cold water wash only)
Please note, this does not include memorial repairs or replacements for memorials which have become decayed or damaged.
If more in-depth cleaning is required, this will be a specialist clean and there would be an extra cost from our stonemason (see additional costs below).
The maintenance costs vary according to the plan you choose. We can help you find the most appropriate package for the type of grave. Our fees brochure outlines the costs.
Additional cleaning costs for amazing results
A maintenance plan includes an annual memorial clean. This is a cold water wash only.
You can also opt for more in-depth cleaning. Our approved stone mason carefully and expertly cleans your memorial to an almost-new look and feel.
The stone mason charges extra for this deep clean. The cost depends on the size, age and amount of work needed.
The results can be amazing. Here are two examples:
