Help With Transport To School

If you’re worried about how to get your children to and from school, we might be able to help

Who we can help

Our transport to school guidance notes explain who is eligible. We can only provide free transport for those who meet the criteria.  

Please complete our travel assistance form if you meet the criteria.

If your child has an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) then you will need to complete and return that form instead. 

This service is for children under 16 only. If your child has reached the end of the academic year and is now 16 years old there is no assistance provided by the local authority. 

Reviews and appeals

If you disagree with our decision you can ask a review. Write to: The Manager, Access Services, Community Learning and Commissioning, TH E3, Town Hall, Bourne Avenue, Bournemouth, BH2 6DY explaining your reasons.

The original decision is then be reviewed by a senior council officer. They write to you to let you know their decision. 

If you are unhappy with the decision made by the reviewing officer, you can lodge an appeal with the Appeals Panel. If you would like an appeal form and a copy of the guidance notes please contact the admissions team on 01202 456200.
