Make sure you have a contract with your childcarer which sets out agreed costs and other terms
What should be included in the contract with a childcarer?
- cost of the childcare and any additional items you may have to pay for (for example milk, food, nappies later collection or registration fees)
- what happens on days when your child is absent because of family holiday or other commitments
- what happens on days which fall on a bank holiday, if the childcare setting closes
- what happens if your childminder is off sick.
The contract should also include a notice period, if either of you wish to change the terms of the contract.
