Disability Access Fund
Information for parents about the Early Years Disability Access Fund
The Disability Access Fund (DAF) is a one-off payment of £615 per year which can help childcare providers make their setting accessible to children with special educational needs and disability.
They can use it to purchase specialist equipment and or seek specialist training that would help them meet children's needs.
Three and four year olds are eligible for the Disability Access Fund if they meet the following criteria:
- the child receives Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and;
- the child receives three and four year old early education funding.
Children become eligible for early education in the term following their third birthday. For more information please see Early Education Funding for three & four year olds page.
Please speak to your childcare setting if you think that your child is eligible for this additional funding.
