Early Years Learning Networks

We offer a range of networks for all early years practitioners to enhance knowledge, skills and improve practice.

Spring Term Networks

These events are targeted at Practitioners and Room Leaders of Early Years Settings.

Following on from the training workshop provided to Managers on 6 December on the Leuven Scales, the Networks will support practitioners in embedding the scales within their settings.

These scales are key elements of quality. In the experiential approach, these two indicators stand centre stage: they tell us how each child is doing in the setting and are the first indicators for the power of the learning environment.

Well-being and involvement can guide and inspire efforts to improve quality.

Practitioners will learn how to observe and record using the Leuven Scales as indicators for children’s Involvement and Well-being using a
process-oriented child monitoring system.

Bilingual Beginnings

The purpose of the Bilingual Beginnings learning network is to improve outcomes for children to whom English is an additional language. Each network will have a different focus and will give attendees a great opportunity to expand on existing knowledge, share good practice, explore different support strategies and discuss all issues relating to bilingualism.

The session will focus on ‘Language and Culture’. There will be an opportunity to discuss the benefits and challenges of cultural diversity and look in more depth into the interactions between language and culture.
