Early Years Learning Networks

We offer a range of networks for all early years practitioners to enhance knowledge, skills and improve practice.

Come Talk with Me

Come Talk with Me networks are focused on improving children's outcomes in speech, language and communication.

Each network has a different focus, but each provides an excellent opportunity to:

• Share good practice, skills and knowledge
• Build your own professional network
• Engage in discussion and explore new activities
• Learn from each other and through interactive presentation

Tuesday 20th February 4.30-6.30

Baby Link

  • Foundation to Literacy: Mark Making "it's not just pencils"

One reason why physical development is identified as a prime area of learning in the EYFS is that young children and babies need good control and coordination to hold a pencil and form letter shapes correctly on paper.

Before children can be expected to write they should be given the opportunity to develop a number of physical pre-writing skills. These include strengthening the muscles in their wrists and fingers to enable them to grip and manipulate a pencil, developing hand eye co-ordination to be able to control a pencil and practising the movements and shapes that writing involves.

  • Monday 26 February 5:30 to 7:30pm

Baby Link supports practitioners working in the baby room. Visit CPD Online to book your place.
