Update on Secure Email, Bournemouth and Christchurch Transition Event, Come Talk with Me Update and Childcare Jobs Closure.
Information for settings & childminders
Update on Secure Email
The old mail encryption system used by Bournemouth Borough Council was known as ClearSwift. From 1 April it has been replaced with Office Message Encryption (OME). Please see the guidance for recipients as the process for sending and receiving secure emails has changed.
Important: It is the providers responsibility to ensure that sensitive information sent by email is sent securely.
- Providers replying to an encrypted email from BCP will remain encrypted
- Emails from a Microsoft product (e.g. Hotmail or Outlook) that are sent to a BCP email will automatically be encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Encryption)
- Providers using any other email system will need to check what encryption services are in place before sending
Foundation Stage Transition Event
These events are bookable on CPD Online and further details will be included on fortnightly emails and on the Transfer Record webpage over the next few months. For those of you who may not have attended before, this event is an opportunity for providers to meet with receiving schools to discuss individual children and hand over the transfer record forms.
If you require any guidance on completing the transfer record forms, please contact BCP Council Early Years on 01202 456343.

Come Talk with Me Update
The next Come Talk with Me Network will take place on: Thursday 16 May 16.30 -18.30
We are focusing on the development of children’s listening and attention skills, which is a foundation skill, alongside play, that supports successful communicators.
Places are filling up quickly so please book your place on CPD online and for more information.
Please come along with ideas and/or activities to share, that children love, and encourage listening and attention skills. Don’t worry we won’t be asking you to speak in front of everyone!
Please see the Come Talk with Me webpage for this Month’s Top Tip and more April updates.
Recruitment Website Closure
Childcare Jobs website will be closed from 4 July, the web provider has decided not to continue providing this service for us. We are researching a way forward for our settings to advertise their posts and will keep you updated.
