Requires Urgent Action

Update your Information

There are still a high number of childcare providers who have not yet checked or updated their provision details via the Provider Portal

It is essential that you do this immediately, as failure to do so will mean that we have to make your record non-public, resulting in your details being removed from all Council and National childcare search facilities. This is not our preferred option, but we have to ensure that the information we provide is accurate. If your registration includes a breakfast, after school or holiday club, please make sure you have checked and updated these service details as well.

If you need any help, please email Claire Lawrence or call 01202 261917 for Christchurch and Poole. For Bournemouth email or call Early Education Funding 01202 456231. If there have been no changes to your details, please confirm this by emailing us

Thank you to everyone who has already completed this.

BCP Council are using the Personal Outcomes Evaluation Tool (POET) to gain feedback on the effectiveness of additional support being provided to children and young people with SEND.There are 3 surveys – one for parents/carers, one for children and young people and one for practitioners working with children and young people with SEND.

Please take some time to complete the practitioners survey and share the links to the parent/carer survey and the children and young people’s survey. Please note – children under 16 must have permission from their parent/carer to complete the survey.

Childminders and Income Tax Relief

Some childminders aren’t sure what they can claim income tax relief on when completing their self-assessment tax forms. Fortunately there’s a specific Childminding section in HMRC’s ‘Business Income Manual’ which also gives childminders other avenues to explore in the field of income tax.

Call HMRC for advice on self-assessments - 0300 200 3310

Coram Family and Childcare Market Research

Coram Family and Childcare have an exciting opportunity to research the market for childcare of mixed groups of deaf and hearing children through commissioned work by the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS).

They would like to hear about any organisations you have worked with who have successfully run childcare or children’s activities which include a mix of pre-school children with and without a special educational need or disability (SEND). Have you worked with or heard of any organisations which fit this description? If so, please get in touch with Josh Cottell, Research and Policy Officer, by email or call 020 72394992.
