New BCP Provider Facebook Group
A new BCP Early Years Sub Group, made up of Providers and LA officers, was established last year to support the development of a BCP Early Years Single Funding Formula. The formula is now in place and the group continues to meet regularly to discuss the impact of the formula and support developments moving forward.
There are 7 providers on the group currently, representing most parts of the sector across BCP (around 370 settings). Your representatives are very keen to establish effective 2 way communication systems with providers and have created a new BCP Facebook group. This group will be administered by providers for providers.
Your representatives will use this Facebook group to share information following Sub Group meetings, seek your views to help to shape future agendas and also create a system to elect future BCP Early Years Sub Group representatives.
This Facebook group, BCP Early Years Providers Information group, is specifically for setting Owners, Managers, Leaders and Childminders operating within BCP.

Sufficiency Data on Synergy
A big thank you to everyone who completed the sufficiency information via the Synergy Portal. This vacancy data is important in providing a snapshot of childcare availability throughout BCP Council. It will be used to help determine if our childcare market is meeting demand from parents. We fully appreciate that the current system of collecting this data is not ideal so will be investigating a simpler way of doing this for next term. We will keep you posted.
Childcare Matters
We are extremely fortunate that Childcare Works will be delivering their successful Childcare Matters programme for childcare providers on the evening of Tuesday 18 June. It provides an opportunity to network, share learning and experience as well as the chance to feedback any current issues related to early education and childcare to the Department of Education (DfE) via Childcare Works. Please take advantage of this fully funded workshop to be held at the beautiful Merley House (with tea, coffee and cake). Places are limited so we recommend you book early to avoid disappointment.
Mental Health Training 0-2 years
A new competencies framework for all those working with children from 0-2, aims to help practitioners assess their knowledge and identify gaps in their training. Here is the article in more detail.
