Requires Action

Early Years Census Reminder

The Early Years Census date has been set by the Department of Education for January 2020. To be able to complete the census by the fixed deadline date we require your assistance.

Please log into the provider portal and complete the ‘BCP Census Form’ which can be found on the ‘Forms’ page by Friday 24 January. Also, submit your Spring balance payments claim / changes to your estimate by Wednesday 29 January.

If you should have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact your funding officer.

Two Year Old Funding

Several times per year, the DfE circulates lists of the parents whose children may be eligible for a funded two year old place. The data consists of eligibility lists, formed from both Legacy benefits data (e.g. Tax Credits, Jobseeker’s Allowance etc.) and Universal Credit (UC). We were informed that, for technical reason, we will not receive the UC list in January 2020.

Please make parents aware who have children who are two that they can apply on line for the funding.

Please see updated information on the Early Years Safeguarding web page.

SEND Local Offer

The SEND Local Offer contains information on services and activities for children and young people with SEND aged 0-25. We now have one Local Offer website for BCP Council, replacing the previous separate Local Offer websites that were in place for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

Please help us by telling your families about the Local Offer and updating any links you might have on your websites to the new BCP Local Offer.

SENCO Inclusion Network

Event open to registered childminders and SENCOs working in group settings across BCP and EYFS Staff working in BCP schools. A great opportunity to receive up to date information, network with one another, BCP Early Years SEND and Inclusion Team, Children's Centre workers and Health Visiting Practitioners.

Same event, choice of locations and date:

EYCPD, Bournemouth - Wednesday 5 February
Civic Centre, Poole – Tuesday 11 February

Urgent 2-3 Year Old Flu Vaccines

We have been advised by Public Health that there are still a large number of two and three year old children in Dorset who have not yet been vaccinated against the nasty flu virus this winter. Please encourage your parents and carers to book their children in now with their doctor for this free NHS service.
