Childcare Works – Childcare Matters

We are delighted that following a successful bid, Childcare Works are coming to Dorset to deliver Childcare Matters. This event is fully funded for childcare practitioners and provides an opportunity to come together to share learning and discuss current issues.

It’s a short interactive information session designed to provide a timely update for experienced staff, and a comprehensive overview for new team members. Events will also offer time to network, connect, and work with other providers.

  • Tuesday 18 June
  • 6.30pm to 9.15pm
  • Merley House, Wimborne

There are limited spaces, so please book your place now

EU Citizens applying for settled status

Are you an EU citizen living and working in the UK? 29,000 people born in the EU currently reside across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. You have the right to apply for settled status regardless of whether the UK leaves with or without a deal. Everything you need to know can be found here

Free evidence-based resources to support children’s language development

Children who enter school with good language skills have better chances in school, better chances of entering higher education, and better economic success in adulthood. Evidence shows that children with poor vocabulary skills at age 5 are more likely to have mental health problems as adults and more likely to go through periods of unemployment. Lucid has useful free resources and information on how children learn to communicate with language.

Tax-Free Childcare Advert

We are on the cover of the latest edition of Primary Times promoting Tax-Free Childcare to parents. You can see the cover on our Facebook page. Tax-Free Childcare can save parents up to £2,000 a year, per child, with childcare costs. You can sign up to the scheme here.

Early Years Conference:  Interacting or Interfering?

Through the use of DVD footage delegates will have the opportunity to explore the role of the practitioner in both adult-led and child-led situations, providing opportunities to reflect on how to tune in to children's current thinking and how to respond in ways that are of benefit to learning and development.
