Katy Waters is the new Bookstart co-ordinator for Bournemouth and Poole. She hopes to continue to encourage the sharing of books and to create lifelong readers. Speech and Language Therapy Drop-in
Please encourage any parents to visit their local children's centre during one of our friendly play and learn groups. Their child can play and learn whilst parents get free expert advice and support from a speech and language therapist. It's free and you don't have to make an appointment.
Come Talk with Me Network
This network will focus on Language Development in bilingual children. We are delighted to welcome our colleague Monika Pardo who will lead on the subject for the evening. There will also be an opportunity for practitioners to ask one of our local Paediatric Speech and Language Therapists questions. 100 Calorie Snacks/Nutritional Workshop
PHE launches Change4Life campaign around children’s snacking. New Change4Life campaign encourages parents to 'look for 100-calorie snacks, two a day max' to cut children’s sugar intake. If you are interested in further information on Child Nutrition and how to support parents, then book on to our Nutrition and healthy Eating Workshops on Thursday 8 March 2018 at (booked through CPD Online)
Healthier Together is an excellent website giving parents, carers and professionals information to help keep children safe and healthy, as well as helping you decide what to do when a child is unwell. It is used by healthcare professionals too, to ensure children receive high quality care, irrespective of where they are seen.
Childminding Group Update
Dates and times of Childminding Groups. These are run at Bournemouth Children’s Centres, where Quality Development Officers attend to give support and advice.
