Two-Year-Old Childcare Funding Postcards
Two-Year-Old Childcare Funding Postcards
Please find attached an example of the postcard which is sent to families who have a child eligible for two-year-old childcare funding. Eligibility is based on a mailing list sent to us, twice termly, by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This postcard is proof of entitlement and no further checks by childcare providers are required.
If you are presented with a postcard before the marked expiry date, please register the child using a Parent/Carer Declaration form and add them to your Synergy Provider Portal, recording the reference number (which is found underneath the address) under the ‘Notes’ tab.
If you have any queries regarding this process or the postcards, please contact either Iwona 01202 456231 or Darren 01202 261989 or email.
A system-wide re-design is underway across BCP, focusing on Early Help, Early Years & Youth Services, Adolescents at Risk and Alternative Provision. You are invited to one of two events in September specifically for DSLs for a collaborative discussion.
Please see the latest training newsletter from the LSCB.

DfE Consultation on Early Years Childcare Fees
The Department for Education (DfE) has launched a public consultation seeking views on a proposed increase to the application fee and the annual fee paid to Ofsted by childcare providers on the Early Years Register, with a view to changes coming into force from April 2020.
The DfE is also seeking views on the principles that should underpin a revised Early Years Register fee model to be introduced from April 2021.
The consultation is available here and will run for 12 weeks from 18 July to 9 October 2019.
Sustainable Nurseries Against Plastic
A Sussex nursery owner has launched a free online platform to help nurseries across the UK become more sustainable. Sustainable Nurseries Against Plastic (SNAP) is and online resource forum where nurseries can share ideas and advice on how to operate more sustainably. Ms Lloyd-Evans said, “SNAP was born from a passion to change and provide a better world for our children.
Parents Survey 2019
We are currently seeking parents views on the childcare they use as part of our Childcare Sufficiency Assessment. The survey should only take a few minutes to complete and asks for their experience of using and finding childcare, early years education and out of school provision. Everybody who takes part has a chance to enter a free prize draw to win a £250 shopping voucher for a shop of their choice. Please help us by promoting this to your parents before the deadline on Friday 2 August.
