Research Project for SENCo's
Are you a SENCo? Can you help with a research project?
The Identifying Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the Early Years research project is a nasen project, led by Dr Helen Curran.
The purpose of the research is to explore the process of identifying SEN in the Early Years, from the perspective of the Early Years (EY) Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO).
We are looking to interview SENCOs who work in an EY settings to further explore the process of identifying SEN in the setting. For example, what do you look out for? What is the process and who is involved? We are keen to speak to approximately 20 SENCOs, so we can really begin to explore practice in this area.
Interviews will be no more than 30 minutes, over the phone, or via Zoom/ Skype – it's your preference. Interviews can take place during the day, or in the evening if more convenient. The report produced at the end of the study will be fully anonymised and will not contain any identifying characteristics.
