Future Plans

How we intend to build on the success of  Operation Galaxy
  • Increased engagement with the local community and private landlords
  • Churchill Gardens Community Fayre – an event in the heart of Operation Galaxy planned for May 2017 to promote Health and Wellbeing and increase community cohesion. Raising awareness with residents on how to report crime, nuisance, disrepair to properties. Also to increase awareness of various support services that improve peoples lives.
  • Improved engagement with rough sleepers locally.
  • Selective Licensing for the wider Boscombe area is being considered with the aim of reducing anti social behaviour and improved standards in private housing in the area.
  • Extending formalised partnership work needs to include the National Probation Service and the Dorset Devon and Cornwall Community Rehabilitation Company (CRC) in order to place reduction of re-offending at the heart of the project going forward
  • Under reporting and intelligence gaps need to be tackled – high levels of tolerance from the community is a major issue and concern
  • CSAS delivery in partnership with the Council for target areas is already in development
  • Improving response to ASB and ensuring a consistent approach from both the Police and the Council will be critical moving forward
  • Sharing good practice with other areas
