Bournemouth Opinion Survey

See what residents thought of our services

Insights into residents' opinions and preferences are invaluable when planning and setting priorities. As we work with Christchurch, Poole and Dorset councils to plan for the new local authority in 2019, we will be able to use the information gained from this survey, about the things that are important to Bournemouth residents, to help inform the new council's priorities as well as service delivery, design and improvement. 

The Council invited more than 9,000 residents to take part in the Bournemouth Opinion Survey to give their views on life in Bournemouth and a range of local services, including refuse collections, public transport and leisure facilities. The survey was conducted between September and October 2017.

Over 2,800 residents responded to the survey, providing their views on the following topics:

  • the local area and council services and their community
  • what is important in making somewhere a good place to live and what needs improving in the local area
  • crime and anti-social behaviour,
  • contacting the Council,
  • where they hear about Council news and information,
  • health and social wellbeing.
