If there’s an emergency we work with the emergency services to look after the community and the environment
We have a duty to produce a Community Risk Register to assess the risks of a disaster or emergency happening in the area. We work with the Local Resilience Forum to plan how these would be dealt with and reduce the risk of them happening.
We also work with businesses to promote business continuity to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and schools.
Examples of involvement
How we act or react depends on what has happened, or what we think will happen. Below are some examples of what we provide:
- Road diversions and traffic management
- Emergency works on buildings or in areas affected by flooding
- Emergency care and welfare for the community
- Specialist advice on environmental and pollution issues
