Diversity monitoring usually comes in the form of a survey or feedback form. We use diversity monitoring to get information about staff and service users and Bournemouth residents.  

This helps us to make sure everyone can use our services. Here’s a guide to diversity monitoring.

Why we need to know

The Government’s Equality Legislation means we have to ask these questions.

Your information helps us find similarities and differences in Bournemouth’s communities. We want to understand residents’ priorities to help us make important decisions. We can identify problems linked to the following things and work towards fixing them:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Race - this includes ethnic or national origins, colour or nationality
  • Sex
  • Gender Reassignment
  • Marriage and Civil Partnership
  • Pregnancy and Maternity
  • Religion
  • Sexual orientation

We can also see any discrimination, or policies that make life difficult for any of Bournemouth’s communities and work towards ending them.
