Planning Performance Agreements (PPA)

PPAs are a useful project management tool for some major planning application proposals. Find out about the process and benefits

We want to ensure that major planning applications are dealt with in an efficient and effective way. For some major applications, we encourage the use of Planning Performance Agreements (PPAs) to ensure the best outcomes for everyone.

A PPA is an agreement set up between the developer and the council setting out how each will approach the various stages of the application process, the resources to be allocated and the timescales.

An initial meeting with a senior planning officer will determine if a PPA or Pre-Application Advice is appropriate for the proposal.

Read our Planning Performance Agreements charter to find out how the process works, the benefits to all parties and details of the costs involved.
