BCP Parking Standards Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)
Find out more about the BCP Parking Standards Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)
The BCP Parking Standards Supplementary Planning Document was adopted by Council on 5 January 2021 and came into immediate effect.
The SPD takes a zonal approach to parking standards. The zones reflect differing levels of accessibility to public transport, shops and local services within Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. The SPD provides detail on parking requirements for new development proposals and is a material consideration when determining planning applications within the BCP Council area. Its role is to support policies in the local development plan and help to deliver on corporate priorities including housing and economic growth.
The SPD is accompanied by an Adoption Statement and Consultation Report.
The Parking Standards SPD consultation took place between 14 September and 12 October 2020. The SPD has been screened in accordance with the European Directive 2001/42/EC and associated Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations 2004 to determine whether a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) is required. Please see a copy of the SEA screening statement.
